        Places for American to visit while in Havana, Cuba

Hemingway House
Ernest Hemingway was an American novelist Journalist and shot story writer. Hemingway maintained permanent residences in Key West in 1930's and Cuba in 1940 and 1950.The Hemingway House is located in San Francisco de la Paula 9 miles from Havana. The Bacardi Building 
Located in old Havana it was completed in 1930. After the revolution and the departure of Bacardi from Cuba, it was used as offices. In the 1990's it was renovated by the city's Historical office and today is one  of Havana's principals landmark. The buildings art deco is one not to miss a 3 dimensional figure of  the Bacardi bat. Roses, pineapples and other tropical fruits...Make sure to try Some Havana Club... Cigar Factory 
Partagas one of the oldest Cuban Cigar Factory in havana, established in 1845. Before and after the Cuban Revolution the authentic Cuban-produced Partagas, were on of the best selling cigars in the world. By the  middle of the 1990's it remained the second leading selling brand of tobacco followed by Montecristo with 10 million in annual sales. Now the Partagas cigar factory in Havana has been renamed to Francisco Perez German. Cigar lover from around the world flock to Havana to indulge in smoking one of these true classic cigars of Havana Cuba. Partagas have been made since 1845.

The Malecon

The Malecon is Officially Called the Avenida de Maceo a 5 mile esplanade, roadway and seawall, it spans from the mouth of the havana harbor down through central Havana ending in the Vedado neighborhood. Construction  began in 1901 during temporary U.S military rule this wall or boardwalk was used to protect Havana from the water. The Cuban government extended the first section in 1923 it reached the mouth of the Almendares River in Vedado. This is truly a place to stroll with your lover or friends as you watch the sun set on El Morro, the castle named after the 3 biblical magi. This is a fortress guarding the entrance to Havana bay in Cuba . Morro means rock which is visible from the sea which serves as a navigational landmark.

  2. U.S.  AND FOREIGN GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL (515.562)      Employee,contractor or grantee of the United States government or any foreign government  or representative of an organization of which the United States is a member, and I am traveling on official business of my government or intergovernmental organization.
  3. JOURNALIST ACTIVITIES (515.563)                                         I am traveling to Cuba directly to engage in journalistic activities,employed as a journalist by news reporting organization, or regularly employed as supporting broadcast or technical person.
  4. PROFESSIONAL RESEARCH / MEETING (515.564)                       I am a full-time professional whose travel transactions are directly related to any profession.
  5. EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES (515.565a)                                      I am a faculty member, staff person or student.
  6. PEOPLE TO PEOPLE TRAVEL (515.565b)                                   The travel is for the purpose of engaging while in Cuba in a full time schedule of activities intended to enhance contact with the Cuban people.
  7. RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES (515.566)                                            I am a person subject to the U.S jurisdiction, including religious organizations located in the U.S and members and staff of such organizations, traveling to Cuba directly incident to engaging in a schedule of full time religious activities in Cuba.                                      
  8. PUBLIC PERFORMANCES / ATHLETIC /OTHERS                  I am a person whose travel to Cuba is directly incident to athletic competitions by amateur  or semi-professional athletic or athletics teams traveling to participate in athletic competition in Cuba provided that (1) the competition is held under the auspices of the international sports federation for the relevant sport (2) the U.S participants are selected by the U.S federation for the relevant sport (3) competition must be open to the public.                           
  9.  SUPPORT OF THE CUBAN PEOPLE (515.574)                          I am a person whose travel to Cuba is directly incident to promoting independent  activities intended to strengthen civil society in Cuba and the schedule of activities does not include  free time or recreation in excess of that consistent with a full time schedule.
  10.  HUMANITARIAN PROJECTS (515.575)                                     Humanitarian projects in or relation to Cuba are designed to benefit the Cuban people.
  11.  ACTIVITIES OF PRIVATE              FOUNDATIONS/RESEARCH/EDUCATIONAL        INSTITUTIONS (515.576)                                                               A person whose travel to Cuba directly incident to activities by private foundations or research, or educational institutions with an established interest in international relations to collect information related to Cuba for non-commercial purposes.
  12.
